A new documentary charting the motorsport journey and potential return of Renee Gracie is set to enter production, following confirmation from Australian streaming platform Stan.
Titled Revealed: Renee Gracie, the documentary will focus on Gracie’s life after stepping away from professional racing and her long-discussed ambitions of returning to competition at Mount Panorama Circuit. Gracie previously competed in the Bathurst 1000 in 2015 and 2016 as part of the Harvey Norman Supergirls programme alongside Simona de Silvestro.
Following those appearances, Gracie exited motorsport at the end of the 2017 season after competing in Carrera Cup and the Supercars Super2 Series. She subsequently built a highly publicised career outside racing, which has kept her name in the public eye and fuelled ongoing speculation about a potential comeback.
While Gracie has previously described a Bathurst 1000 wildcard entry as unlikely, the commissioning of the documentary suggests renewed momentum around revisiting her motorsport story. The production is being supported by Screen Australia, Screenwest and Lotterywest, and will be produced by Rush Films.
The creative team behind the project includes Frances Elliott, Samantha Marlowe and Cody Greenwood, with the documentary forming part of Stan’s ongoing Revealed slate of Australian factual programming. According to Stan, the series is designed to explore contemporary Australian stories through an investigative and long-form documentary format.
The documentary is expected to address themes extending beyond motorsport, including public scrutiny, gender dynamics, stigma, and Gracie’s unconventional career path. It will also examine whether a return to competitive racing remains viable, and if so, in what form.
From a Racing-X perspective, the announcement highlights how modern motorsport narratives increasingly extend beyond on-track results alone. Whether or not a competitive comeback ultimately materialises, the documentary positions Gracie’s story within a broader discussion about access, longevity, and alternative career trajectories in professional racing.
No broadcast date has yet been confirmed, and there has been no formal announcement regarding any specific racing programme tied to the documentary.
