Seth Gilmore has confirmed he will contest the 2026 season of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia as a PRO driver with Bergwerk Motorsport, following his selection into the Porsche Talent Pool programme.
The announcement comes after Gilmore attended the recent Porsche Talent Pool Assessment, which included media training, interviews, brand workshops and two days of on-track running. It marked his first experience behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, providing an initial introduction to the marque’s customer racing platform.
Gilmore transitions to GT competition after a strong 2025 campaign in the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship, where he raced for Evans GP. He claimed two race wins during the season and finished second overall in the championship standings, positioning himself as one of the leading drivers on the grid.
Carrera Cup Asia traditionally combines experienced gentleman drivers with emerging young racers, creating a diverse competitive mix across the field. Gilmore’s entry into the PRO category places him among the championship’s full-time professional contenders as he adapts from single-seater machinery to Porsche’s rear-engined Cup car.
The programme with Bergwerk Motorsport provides Gilmore with an established Porsche operation as he embarks on his first full GT campaign. His inclusion in the Porsche Talent Pool also aligns him with the brand’s structured driver development pathway within its global customer racing framework.
In confirming the 2026 campaign, Gilmore thanked Minal from Bergwerk Motorsport, along with Jason Grant, CQ Loh and his family for their continued backing.
After finishing as runner-up in South East Asia F4, the move to Carrera Cup Asia marks a clear next step in Gilmore’s career as he broadens his experience within the Asian motorsport landscape.
