Bianca Bustamante will take the next major step in her single-seater career when she makes her debut in the GB3 Championship at Silverstone on April 26–27.

The 20-year-old Filipina racer will line up for the opening round of the 2025 season with Elite Motorsport, marking her progression from Formula 4-level competition following two seasons in F1 Academy. The Silverstone weekend will be Bustamante’s first competitive outing in GB3 machinery and her first full-season campaign in a mixed-gender grid since her karting days.

GB3 represents a significant step up on the European single-seater ladder, sitting between Formula 4 and FIA Formula 3. The category introduces drivers to more powerful engines, increased aerodynamic performance and longer race distances, all designed to prepare competitors for higher levels of international competition.

For 2025, the championship introduces the all-new Tatuus MSV GB3-025, which brings substantial technical changes. The new car features a revised chassis, an updated aerodynamic package delivering approximately 35 percent more downforce, a 30-horsepower increase in engine output, and the introduction of DRS. Wider tyres improve mechanical grip, while the car also meets updated safety standards.

Bustamante has undertaken an extensive preparation programme in the lead-up to her GB3 debut. This has included intensive physical conditioning focused on strength and endurance, as well as simulator work and multiple on-track test sessions with Elite Motorsport. Testing has taken place at circuits that form part of the 2025 calendar, including Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps, allowing her to familiarise herself with both the car and key venues.

The opening round at Silverstone will feature three races and will be run alongside the British GT Championship, providing Bustamante with exposure to a high-profile race weekend environment. The event will be broadcast via the official GB3 live stream and on Sky Sports F1.

Bustamante has described the move to GB3 as the most important challenge of her career so far, highlighting the demands of adapting to higher downforce, increased physical load and a more competitive grid. She has credited her preparation programme and the support of Elite Motorsport and her partners as key factors in her readiness for the step up.

From a Racing-X perspective, Bustamante’s GB3 debut represents a critical benchmark in her development. Performance consistency, adaptability and learning rate will be closely watched as she begins her first season in one of Europe’s most competitive junior single-seater championships, with the long-term goal of progressing to FIA Formula 3 firmly in sight.
