The 2025 F4 South East Asia Championship resumes at Sepang International Circuit after a two month break, returning to the venue that opened the season and where the title could potentially be decided this weekend.
Alex Sawer arrives in commanding form, having won seven of the eight races held so far this year. The Evans GP driver will secure the championship if he outscores his closest rivals by 23 points across the three races. On paper the task appears manageable, but the competitive landscape has evolved since the last round.

Team-mate Seth Gilmore heads into the weekend buoyed by his maiden F4 victory on the streets of Bangsaen. With the remainder of the campaign based at Sepang, effectively Evans GP’s Asian headquarters, the Australian will be looking to convert familiarity into a sustained challenge.
BlackArts Racing continue to lead the opposition charge. Rishon Rajeev has consistently pressured the Evans GP pairing and remains within striking distance in the standings. Inigo Anton, representing the Philippines, has been the benchmark among the rookies and has not finished lower than fourth on the road all season, aside from an opening round disqualification. Team-mates Ben Nguyen and Joshua Berry return aiming for a stronger performance than their previous outing.

Worapong Aiemwichan has scored in every race he has contested and continues to build momentum. Thomas Yu Lee and Wang Zhongwei also remain in the mix, both eager to capitalise on any opportunities in the region’s premier single seater category.

The grid expands further for round four. Korean driver Kyuho Lee joins Evans GP after a top ten campaign in Spanish F4 with Rodin, positioning himself as an immediate contender. BlackArts add Imran Halim, a long time karter stepping up to the championship after nearly a decade in the discipline.

Pinnacle Motorsport make their return to SEA F4 for the first time in two years, fielding two highly regarded rookies. Niccolo Maccagnani, recently announced as a Ferrari Driver Academy member for 2026, brings three years of F4 testing experience. Singapore’s Kareen Kaur arrives with strong karting credentials, including podiums in the ROK Cup Asia finals and competitive results in the Inf1nity IAME Series Asia, along with an upcoming campaign in the Champions of the Future Karting Championships.
With the largest grid of the season and dry conditions forecast, the stage is set for a pivotal weekend. While Sawer controls his own destiny, the depth of the field suggests that sealing the title will be far from straightforward.
